The Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, has called on residents of the constituency to continue praying for the government to successfully deliver on its mandate, stressing that development regardless of the government in power ultimately benefits all citizens.

Speaking at the Busunu Homecoming Durbar in the Busunu Traditional Area, the Damongo MP underscored the central role of development in the growth and forward march of every community. He described Busunu as a town deeply rooted in tradition and dignity, with a proud legacy of academic excellence.

Hon. Abu Jinapor hailed Busunu as a renowned “town of education” that has produced many distinguished and highly educated individuals.

In a personal reflection, he acknowledged his former headmaster at St. Charles Minor Seminary, Mr. Paul Kelly, who was present at the durbar.

“The man who was my headmaster in St. Charles Minor Seminary is here,” he remarked to applause from the gathering.

Welcoming guests to the Damongo Constituency and specifically to Busunu in the Savannah Region, the MP celebrated the town’s unique identity, describing it as “the only Blue City in Ghana” and a “home of true intellectuals.”

The Damongo MP also used the occasion to formally welcome the Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Hon. Yussif Sulemana, whom he described as a brother and partner in service.

He noted their shared privilege of having former President John Dramani Mahama as a constituent, and reiterated Busunu’s place as one of the cradle towns of development in the Savannah Region and Ghana at large.

Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor praised Hon. Yussif Sulemana for his commitment to the development of Gonjaland and urged residents to continue supporting him with prayers as he works toward advancing the socio-economic development of the Savannah Region.

He further commended the organizers of the homecoming durbar for their initiative, assuring them of his personal commitment to contribute to the area’s development.

To demonstrate this support, the Damongo MP announced a donation of GH¢49,500 towards the completion of the Busunu Community Centre project.

The gesture, he said, reflects his belief that sustained community development is best achieved through unity, shared responsibility, and collective goodwill.
