The Bole District in the Savannah Region celebrated its 41st annual Farmers’ Day celebration at Sakpa on 5th December, 2025.
The event, themed “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” brought together farmers, stakeholders, and dignitaries to recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of farmers in the district.
Addressing the gathering, the District Director of Agriculture, Mr. Sualey Abukari, commended the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, who is also the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, and the District Chief Executive for Bole District, Mr. Abdulai Mahmud, for their unwavering support in organizing the event.
He also expressed gratitude to the Chief of Sakpa for not only supporting the event but also offering to chair the occasion to a successful end.

This year’s celebration saw 21 farmers recognized for their outstanding contributions to farming in the district.
He said Mr. Baakun Sunyazi from Gbampe emerged as the Overall Best Farmer, with Abdul-Karim Adimpong from Bamboi and Mr. Alex Borosum from Jama taking the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.
Mr. Abukari urged farmers who did not receive awards not to be discouraged, emphasizing that the awards are meant to motivate farmers in the district.
He also announced that the government has brought back institutions into farming, with Bamboi Technical School being one of the beneficiaries.
The Director encouraged faith-based institutions to venture into farming, noting that they will be considered for awards in the future.
The Director also highlighted the government’s flagship program, “Feed Ghana,” and encouraged farmers to register and benefit from the initiative. He expressed appreciation to the Sakpa Chief and his elders for volunteering 20 acres of land to establish a “Farmers Services Center,” which will be equipped with farm implements.
The celebration serves as a testament to the district’s commitment to promoting agriculture and supporting its farmers.
