Cocoa Research Junior High School in Bole has been crowned champion of the 2025 Kutuge Feso Science and Maths Quiz after a thrilling and highly competitive grand finale held on December 5, 2025, at the Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge in Bole.

The finals brought together three outstanding schools Cocoa Research JHS, Sawla Girls Model JHS, and Bole St. Kizito ‘B’ R/C JHS each of which qualified after weeks of rigorous zonal contests across the Bole Traditional Area. Cocoa Research JHS emerged victorious with an impressive 52 points ahead of Sawla Girls Model JHS with 45 points and St. Kizito ‘B’ R/C JHS with 33 points.

Marking its 5th edition, the Kutuge Feso Science and Maths Quiz continues to introduce reforms aimed at raising academic standards and enhancing teaching and learning in science and mathematics. The competition has become a key barometer for assessing the academic progress of basic schools within the traditional area.

Addressing participants and guests, the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area and President of the Bole Traditional Council, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge I, expressed profound satisfaction with the successful organisation of this year’s edition.

He celebrated the uniqueness of the contest, likening it to the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), and applauded its role in nurturing curiosity, confidence, and excellence among students.

Bolewura emphasized the significant impact of the competition on academic performance, noting that its consistency motivates teachers to strengthen their instructional methods. He commended organizers, teachers, and supporters for their dedication and highlighted the importance of their contributions to the programme’s continued success.

The Chief further acknowledged sponsors for their support, stating that the prizes awarded would inspire students and encourage schools that did not make it to the finals to strive harder next year.

Prizes Awarded
Cocoa Research JHS (1st Place): Trophy, medals for students and teachers, a laptop, exercise books, mathematical sets, pens, T-shirts, certificates, and a cash prize of GH¢5,000.

Sawla Girls Model JHS (2nd Place): Exercise books, mathematical sets, pens, T-shirts, certificates, and GH¢3,000.

St. Kizito ‘B’ R/C JHS (3rd Place): Exercise books, mathematical sets, pens, T-shirts, certificates, and GH¢2,000.

Additionally, several individuals who have played pivotal roles in promoting education within the Bole Traditional Area were honored with citations for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

The 2025 Kutuge Feso Science & Maths Quiz has once again solidified its place as one of the most influential academic competitions in the Savannah Region, inspiring a new generation of learners and raising the bar for educational achievement.
