The Gonjaland Youth Association (GLYA) has called on the Ndempo people to rally behind Kagbanye as a pathway to unity, lasting peace, and sustainable development.
The appeal was made by the General Secretary of GLYA, Mr. Habib Muftawu Borerijnkpr, during a historic Ndempo homecoming gathering held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Kadelso.
The event, the first of its kind, brought together traditional authorities from Ndempo communities, sons and daughters of Ndempoto, youth leaders, and government officials to deliberate on unity and development challenges confronting the area.
Leading a delegation that included the National Public Relations Officer and branch executives of GLYA, Mr. Borerijnkpr emphasized that unity remains the bedrock of meaningful development. He urged all stakeholders to set aside differences and work collectively in the supreme interest of the Ndempo people.
He further called on the Ndempo Youth Federation to urgently revitalize the currently inactive Ndempo Branch of GLYA to enhance youth participation in community development and decision-making processes.
Mr. Borerijnkpr also announced that the Gonjaland Youth Association will mark its 50th anniversary in 2026, with the anniversary congress slated for Buipe. He appealed to members and stakeholders across Gonjaland to actively support the preparations to ensure a successful golden jubilee celebration.
The Member of Parliament for Kintampo North Constituency, Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah, who graced the occasion, commended the leadership of GLYA for its timely intervention in resolving the Gulumpe conflict. He described the Association’s role as instrumental in safeguarding peace and stability in the area.
The gathering concluded with a renewed pledge by participants to strengthen unity, promote peace, and collectively pursue development across Ndempo communities.
