A delegation from representing the King and Overlord of Gonja Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I) and the Paramount Chief of the Tuluwe Traditional Area, Tuluwewura Iddi Kelley Purgi B’Don met with the Minister for the Bono East region Mr Francis Owusu Antwi at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Techiman on Thursday, January 8, 2026, to introduce Portowura Issahaku Soale Borenyi- Nche to him and other officers.
On behalf of Yagbonwura and Tuluwewura, the delegation sought the suppprt of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council for Kportowura Issahaku as he takes on his role as the Chief of Community, which is part of Gonjaland Traditionally but in Kintampo Noth Municipality.
Members of the delegation included Dabopewura Dr Abdulai Issah Bakari of Tuluwewura Traditional Area, Kawanpewura Iddrisu Daboka Kanyiti, Gulunpewura Adam Shei Tanpradu, Alhassankurawura Isaac Kuma Be-Awurbi and Korewurakura wura Adam Jani Borewunche. Others were Mr Abubakari Mohammed (representative of Jakpa Palace) and two representatives of the Gonja Traditional Council- Sidik Haruna (Secretary) and Shafiw Braimah (Assistant Secretary).
The delegation disclosed to the Bono East Regional Minister that the King and Overlord of Gonja Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I) has ultimate authority on all Chieftaincy matters in Gonjaland and his decision on Kportowura Issahaku is final and has been backed by his Paramount Chiefs and Elders.
The Bono East Regional Minister and his team welcomed the delegation and expressed happiness that Yagbonwura chose the peaceful route to select a Kportowura.
He promised to table the issue for discussion with the Kintampo Noth Municipal and Bono East Regional Security councils.
