A delegation from the Savannah Farmers Brigade (SFB) led by His Royal Majesty Jira Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II has held a high-level consultative meeting with the Governor of the Bank of Ghana,
Johnson Pandit Asiama
as part of efforts to strengthen agricultural financing and promote inclusive economic growth.
The meeting, held at the Bank of Ghana headquarters in Accra brought together the Governor, his two Deputies and senior technical officials of the Bank.
It provided a platform for the Savannah Farmers Brigade to present a comprehensive proposal aimed at transforming the Savannah ecological zone into a modern agro-industrial hub.
Addressing the gathering, HRM Jira Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II highlighted the importance of agriculture as a critical driver of national development, food security, and employment creation.

He outlined the Brigade’s vision of leveraging mechanization, improved access to finance, and climate-smart agricultural practices to boost productivity and strengthen rural economies.
The Buipewura emphasized that sustainable farming remains central to national stability, noting that strong rural financial systems contribute to social cohesion and reduce economic migration pressures.
He further underscored the Brigade’s commitment to expanding opportunities for women and youth through improved access to credit and skills development.

The Savannah Farmers Brigade proposal is structured around five key pillars: enhancing food security, strengthening security and stability through rural economic development, promoting environmental sustainability, empowering women and youth, and creating up to 50,000 sustainable jobs across the agricultural value chain.
Mr Johnson Pandit Asiama commended the initiative and praised the leadership of HRM Jira Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II for his role in aligning traditional leadership with modern economic development objectives.
He noted that the Brigade’s goals are consistent with the Bank of Ghana’s mandate to support financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth.
