The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has announced plans for another facility by the promoters of the Boresah Driving Institute to be established in the Bole District within the next two months. The announcement was made on February 23, 2026 when the MP inspected the newly established Boresah Driving Institute in Bole.
According to him, the new initiative forms part of broader efforts to create employment opportunities and equip the youth in the constituency with employable skills.Dr. Sulemana recalled that in June last year he facilitated the establishment of an office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Bole and promised residents that a driving school would soon follow to complement its operations.“Before you get a driving licence, you need a driving school to certify you. Without a driving school, the work of DVLA in this district would have been incomplete,” he said.

He noted that the establishment of the Boresah Driving Institute fulfills that promise and provides a new opportunity for young people, particularly those who could not continue their education beyond junior high school, to acquire driving skills and improve their chances of employment. The institute, he said, currently operates with about three vehicles and employs management and other auxiliary staff, thereby creating jobs in the area.
Dr. Sulemana encouraged the youth in the constituency to take advantage of the opportunity by enrolling in the school to obtain professional training, certificates and driving licences. According to him, such qualifications could open doors for recruitment into the security services, including the military, police, immigration and fire service.
He further revealed that discussions are ongoing with some mining companies to provide additional training opportunities for graduates of the driving institute.“Once they are trained and licensed here, we will move them to the mining companies where they can be trained to operate heavy-duty and earth-moving equipment such as caterpillars and other machines,” he stated.
The MP also disclosed that the promoters of the institute are considering constructing a hostel facility to accommodate trainees who may come from distant communities to study at the school.Touching on concerns about middlemen, popularly referred to as “goro boys,”
Dr. Sulemana advised the management of the institute not to allow anyone to extort money from the public. He stressed that applicants only need to pay the official fees for training and licensing without going through intermediaries. On the issue of minors riding motorcycles in town without licences, the MP described it as a security matter that falls under the responsibility of the police.

However, he encouraged riders without licences to take advantage of the new driving school to regularize their documentation. He also called for collaboration between the institute and the DVLA to intensify public education through local radio stations to help residents understand the importance of acquiring valid driving licences.
Dr. Sulemana expressed optimism that the initiative will contribute significantly to job creation and skills development in the constituency.
