The Bole District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service has appealed for financial support to enable the district’s Under-13 boys football team to participate in the 2026 Milo U-13 School Based Champions League scheduled to take place in Takoradi.
According to the District Director of Education, Richard Achinani Sepaga, the selection of a school from Bole to represent the Savannah Region at the national competition marks a historic achievement for the district and a proud moment for the region.
In a letter dated February 17, 2026, and addressed to the General Manager of Bole Based Nkilgi fm, the Directorate explained that the qualification reflects the discipline, commitment and talent of young athletes within the district’s schools.
Mr. Sepaga noted that the opportunity will not only expose the pupils to national competition but also motivate other students to combine sports with academic excellence.
However, the Directorate indicated that financial constraints could affect the team’s participation, hence the appeal to individuals, institutions and benevolent organizations to support the initiative.
“The competition date is fast approaching and preparations must begin immediately. Accommodation bookings, transportation arrangements and training logistics require early financial commitment,” the letter stated.
An estimated budget of GH¢57,400 has been outlined to cover transportation, accommodation, feeding, medical support, vehicle servicing and allowances for coaches and officials.
Management of the Directorate assured that sponsors will receive public recognition during community ceremonies, certificates of appreciation and publicity for supporting youth development in the district.
The Directorate expressed confidence that with adequate support, the Bole team will not only participate but also excel while carrying the hopes of the district and the entire Savannah Region to the national stage.
