
The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has cut the sod for the commencement of several infrastructure projects at Bole Senior High School aimed at improving teaching, learning and student welfare.
The projects include the construction of a Home Economics block, an additional sick bay facility, renovation works on the school’s administration block and the construction of teacher bungalows.
Addressing staff and students during a short ceremony at the school, Dr. Sulemana said the growing population of the school makes it necessary to improve facilities to support academic work and student wellbeing.According to him, the Home Economics facility will enhance practical teaching and learning, while the expansion of the sick bay will help address the healthcare needs of students.“We believe that the school has reached a stage where it needs improved facilities to enhance teaching and learning, especially in Home Economics. We have also been informed that the existing sick bay is not enough considering the increasing student population,” he said.
He added that the administration block, which has been in use for several years, will also undergo renovation to improve its condition and the construction of teacher bungalowsDr. Sulemana disclosed that the contract for the projects has been awarded to Kamagtey Royal Limited, a local contractor in the district, following an assessment of the company’s experience.
However, he cautioned contractors against delivering poor-quality work, stressing that his office would closely monitor the projects to ensure high standards.“I will not accept shoddy work. If any contractor fails to deliver quality work, the contract will be revoked and given to someone who can do the job properly,” he warned.
The MP encouraged collaboration between the contractor and school management to ensure successful completion of the projects, noting that the initiative forms part of efforts to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.Dr. Sulemana also expressed appreciation to teachers for their dedication, noting that he is proud to be a trained teacher himself and hopes to return to the classroom someday.
The District Chief Executive for Bole, Abdulai Mahmud, commended the MP for his commitment to improving education in the area.He assured that the district assembly would work with stakeholders to monitor the projects and ensure value for money.“We will dedicate our time to monitor the projects to ensure that the intended purpose is achieved and that the people get value for money,” he said.

The Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration at Bole Senior High School, Mr. Abubakari Habib speaking on behalf of the Headmaster expressed gratitude to the MP for the intervention.He assured that the school would maintain the facilities and ensure they are used for the purposes for which they were built.“We will play our part to ensure that when these projects are completed, they will be properly maintained for generations yet to come,” he stated.
