The Member of Parliament for Bole and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has donated streetlights to several communities in the Bole Constituency to help improve visibility and security.

According to the MP, the constituency has about 27 to 28 electoral areas, and each area is expected to receive at least 15 streetlights. He noted that some streetlights had already been distributed to parts of the Bole township a few weeks ago, but additional allocations were necessary to extend the project to more communities.

Dr. Sulemana said the distribution forms part of efforts to address lighting challenges and improve safety within the constituency. He thanked stakeholders who attended the short presentation ceremony and expressed appreciation for their continued support. The District Chief Executive for Bole, Hon. Abdulai Mahmud expressed gratitude to the MP for the initiative.

He described the lawmaker as hardworking and committed to the development of the district. The DCE explained that aside from the principal streets, many communities lack streetlights, leaving several areas in darkness.

According to him, the situation exposes residents to security risks, including crime and encounters with reptiles. He assured that the items would not only benefit the Bole township but would also be distributed to interior communities to help address the lighting challenges across the district.

Hon. Mahmud further commended the MP for his continuous support to the assembly, noting that such interventions make a significant difference.“If this responsibility was left to the assembly alone, we would not be able to do it.

Having the MP supporting us in this manner will help solve many of the problems we face,” he said.He also urged residents in beneficiary communities to take good care of the streetlights to ensure they serve their intended purpose.
