The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has witnessed the installation of a telecommunications tower at Klampobille in the Bole District as part of efforts to improve network connectivity in underserved communities. The project, being undertaken by Riame Ghana Limited, forms part of an initiative to expand network coverage across several communities within the constituency.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, Dr. Sulemana said the installation of the tower would significantly enhance communication and improve socio-economic activities in the area.According to him, the project will initially cover about six communities including Klampobile, Doli, Chache, and Kabilma while additional locations are also being considered.

He noted that the company has also been tasked to inspect and maintain existing telecom towers across the constituency to ensure reliable network services.Dr. Sulemana explained that poor network connectivity in parts of the district had previously been linked to security challenges, including robbery incidents.“I raised concerns in Parliament in 2022 about how poor network connectivity was contributing to robbery cases in some communities.

Many of these incidents occurred in areas where there was no communication network,” he said.He expressed optimism that government efforts to expand telecommunications infrastructure would address the problem and improve safety. The MP indicated that the initiative forms part of a broader plan to ensure that every community in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency has access to network connectivity.

He disclosed that following discussions with the government and the Communications Ministry, approval had been granted to begin expanding network infrastructure to communities that currently lack coverage. As part of the exercise, engineers recently visited communities such as Sonyo, Chache, and Kabelilma to assess connectivity challenges, while further technical work is expected in Teslima and Sakpa.Dr. Sulemana urged residents to cooperate with the engineers and provide the necessary support to facilitate the successful completion of the project.

He emphasized that improved connectivity would not only enhance security but also support healthcare delivery and economic activities.According to him, access to reliable network services would make it easier for residents to call for emergency services such as ambulances, particularly during medical emergencies.

The MP added that improved communication would also boost trading and business activities by enabling people in different communities to connect easily.Dr. Sulemana further disclosed that discussions with President John Dramani Mahama and the Communications Minister could lead to the installation of four additional major telecom towers in the district. He assured residents that stakeholders would be consulted to identify strategic locations for the new towers to ensure wider coverage.

Dr. Sulemana reaffirmed his commitment to improving the living conditions of residents in the constituency, stating that the expansion of network connectivity is part of efforts to deliver on promises made to the people.
