
A Registered General Nurse at Bole District Hospital, Mr Joshua Amele Dordoye, has been honoured with two prestigious national awards at the 2026 Ghana Medical Health Awards held in Accra.
Mr Dordoye, who has thirteen (13) years of nursing experience, received the awards for Overall Health Personality of the Year and General Nurse of the Year in recognition of his outstanding contribution to healthcare delivery.

The Ghana Medical Health Awards ceremony was organised by Apex Africa Concept to celebrate and recognise exceptional health professionals across Ghana who have demonstrated excellence, dedication, and innovation in their fields.Before this national recognition, Mr Dordoye had already been acknowledged for his professional excellence, having been named Best Nurse/Midwife in the Bole District in 2025.
Over the years, he has built a reputation for his dedication to patient care, commitment to professional standards, and innovative approaches to nursing practice.Speaking after receiving the awards, Mr. Dordoye expressed gratitude for the recognition.He said;“I am very happy and honoured to receive these prestigious awards. It is a great recognition of my commitment to providing quality nursing care to my patients to help them recover quickly. It also reflects my effort to ensure that the necessary materials and support needed to deliver effective nursing and medical services are available”.
He further noted that the recognition extends beyond his personal achievement and reflects the collective effort of the hospital staff.Joshua Amele Dordoye added that; “These awards mean a lot to me personally and to the entire hospital. They have helped to raise the image of the hospital as one of the best safe care Level 4 hospitals in the region. It also highlights the dedication and hard work of the staff, showing that our collective efforts in delivering quality healthcare are being recognised”.
Bole District Hospital has made significant progress in quality healthcare delivery and in its most recent SafeCare hospital assessment, the facility achieved a successful SafeCare Level 4 rating with an improved score, making it likely the only health facility in the region to reach that level of performance.

The achievement of Mr Dordoye is seen as a reflection of the hospital’s growing reputation for quality healthcare and the commitment of its staff to improving health outcomes in Bole District and surrounding communities.
