The Bole District Assembly, in partnership with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has launched a relief effort to support communities affected by the Gbiniyiri conflict.
The items donated to President John Dramani Mahama by the Green House Group and National Security, is aimed at providing essential support to displaced individuals who have returned from Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
The relief items which include rice, oil, tomatoes, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, and disposable cups, are being distributed to 15 communities in the district.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi Fm, to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole, Mr. Abdulai Mahmud, the initiative is part of the first phase of the relief effort, and the Assembly is working to gradually reach all affected areas.
Mr. Mahmud noted that the distribution of relief items was delayed due to the influx of returnees, but the Assembly has now commenced the process, taking into account the stabilization of the security situation in the area. He assured that security measures are being normalized, with regular patrols and a strong presence of the IGP security personnel to maintain peace.
The Bole DCE also highlighted an ongoing mediation process aimed at achieving lasting peace in the area. He expressed optimism that this effort would help to resolve the conflict and create a more stable environment for the affected communities.
Community leaders who benefited from the relief items expressed their profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and the government for their support.
They praised the government for standing by them since the beginning of the conflict and for providing relief items to help alleviate their suffering. The leaders also thanked the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, and the NDC Constituency Executives for their continuous support.
The distribution of relief items has brought some joy to the affected communities, and the peaceful atmosphere during the distribution exercise is a testament to the progress being made towards normalcy. As the Assembly continues to work towards providing support to all affected areas, the people remain hopeful for a brighter future.
The beneficiary communities are Bale, Tumburuyiri, Horiyiri,Kpenayiri,Goli, Doolanakura, Jentige, Yombokura, Tinyekura, Dasokura, Manukura, Chache, Jankulakura, Mamadukura and Kpekyirikura.
