The Bole District Community Foundation, in partnership with PureTrust Foundation and NORTGCODE-Ghana, has launched a comprehensive peace-building initiative in the Bole District of the Savannah Region.

The initiative, known as the Peace Project, is funded by Conciliation Resources and seeks to strengthen harmony and prevent conflict in the Bole and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Districts.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer of the Bole District Community Foundation, Mr. Alhassan Abdul Razack, underscored the importance of safeguarding social cohesion.
“Disagreements are part of daily life, but what makes the difference is how we choose to resolve them,” he noted, stressing the need for deliberate efforts to foster peaceful coexistence.

The project follows recurring tensions between the Gonja and Brifor communities, a situation that prompted Conciliation Resources to support the Foundation in addressing the root causes of the conflict.

Over the next four months, the Foundation will engage residents in Abaara, Abaasuma, and Chenchere through dialogue sessions, sensitization activities, and community empowerment programmes aimed at promoting lasting peace.
Chairman of the Foundation, Rev. Adams B. Seidu, expressed appreciation to the implementing partners NORTGCODE-Ghana, PureTrust Foundation, and Conciliation Resources for their commitment to the initiative.
“Peace is the bedrock of development, and we are grateful that our partners recognize the urgency and relevance of this project,” Rev. Seidu said.

He further acknowledged the support of the Bolewura, the life patron of the Foundation, whose leadership continues to inspire their work.
The Peace Project is expected to make a meaningful and lasting impact, helping communities strengthen relationships and build a culture of harmony and mutual respect.
