Chief Abdulai Nungbaso, the chief of Sawlawura, has praised Hon. Alhaji Abdulai Mohammed, Assemblyman for the Kawurbi Electoral Area and Presiding Member of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly, for donating a public address sound system to the Sawla Palace in the Bole Traditional Area.

Hon. Abdulai Mohammed, speaking to the media at the palace, said the donation was inspired by his experiences during several public engagements at the Sawla Palace, where communication challenges were evident.

He noted that on many occasions, especially during well-attended gatherings, residents seated at the outskirts of the palace grounds found it difficult to clearly hear the Sawlawura and other speakers.

He cited the recent Gbiniyiri Gonja–Brifor conflict as a clear example, recalling that the palace hosted high-level mediation efforts involving distinguished dignitaries including the Commander of the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to him, the large turnout of residents during those engagements underscored the need for an effective public address system, as many community members were unable to adequately follow the proceedings due to poor audibility.

Hon. Abdulai Mohammed stressed that the new PA system will help ensure inclusive participation, improve information flow and enhance transparency during critical meetings and traditional engagements at the palace.

Concerned by the challenge, the assemblyman said he mobilised resources to procure the PA system to improve communication at the palace. The equipment, he noted includes an amplifier, a mixer deck with two microphones and speakers to ensure that proceedings at the palace can be clearly heard during future gatherings.

Receiving the donation, the Sawlawura, Chief Abdulai Nungbaso, expressed his appreciation for the thoughtful gesture, stressing that the sound system is not for him alone but for the benefit of all communities within the area.

He assured that the equipment would be put to good use and prayed for God’s continued blessings and guidance for Hon. Alhaji Abdulai Mohammed. The Sawlawura further encouraged other well-meaning individuals to emulate such acts of generosity, which he said would promote unity and sustain peace throughout the Gonja Kingdom.
