The Savannah Regional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress has directed all party members and aspiring executives to immediately suspend unauthorized campaign activities across the region.
The directive, issued through an official statement signed by the Savannah Regional Secretary, Salisu Be-Awuribe Issifu cautioned that early campaigning for constituency, regional and national executive positions is negatively affecting ongoing party reorganization efforts.
According to the Regional Executive Committee, some prospective aspirants have already begun active campaigns despite the absence of officially approved timelines for internal elections.

The leadership expressed concern that such activities are distracting party executives and members from the crucial Branch Reorganisation Exercise currently underway in the Savannah Region. The statement emphasized that strengthening branch structures remains a key component of the party’s long-term political strategy and organizational development.
It further stressed that the ongoing reorganization exercise is a critical foundation for the party’s future success and should not be overshadowed by premature political ambitions.“As a result, all forms of campaign activities for executive positions within the Savannah Region must cease with immediate effect,” the statement directed.
The Regional Executive Committee also warned that any individual or group found violating the directive would face disciplinary action in accordance with the party’s internal regulations. The party leadership urged members, particularly aspiring executives to focus their efforts on strengthening the party at the grassroots level until official guidelines and timelines for internal elections are announced.
The Savannah Regional NDC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline, unity and order within the party as it continues its internal restructuring activities ahead of future political contests.
