Bright Beginnings Educational Complex has celebrated its 10th Annual Graduation, Completion and Prize-Giving Day with a call for continued investment in quality education, while announcing the introduction of a boarding facility to further enhance academic excellence.
The colorful ceremony brought together traditional authorities, members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), teachers, parents, guardians, students, and other invited guests to celebrate the achievements of graduating pupils and recognize outstanding academic performance.
Delivering his address, the Headteacher of the school, Simon Opoku, described the occasion as a significant milestone in the institution’s journey, emphasizing that the event was not only to celebrate academic success but also to reward excellence and prepare graduating learners for the next stage of their educational journey.
He congratulated the graduating pupils for their hard work, resilience, and determination, urging them to remain focused and continue striving for excellence. He also expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for their unwavering support and sacrifices, as well as to the teaching and non-teaching staff whose dedication has contributed to the school’s success.
Mr. Opoku recounted the remarkable growth of Bright Beginnings Educational Complex since its establishment on September 9, 2015. According to him, the school started in a rented facility at Sawaba near the Customs Barrier in Bole with only eight pupils, two teachers, and two non-teaching staff. Due to rapid growth in enrolment, the school relocated to its current permanent site less than two years later.
Today, the institution has grown into one of the leading private basic schools in the area, with an enrolment of 438 students supported by 24 teaching and non-teaching staff across its Preschool, Primary, and Junior High School departments.
Highlighting the school’s achievements, the Headteacher announced that 2026 marked another historic milestone as Bright Beginnings presented its first batch of candidates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). He expressed confidence that the pioneer candidates would excel in the examination.
He further noted that the school has strengthened co-curricular activities by promoting public speaking, talent development, and competitive learning, helping to build confidence and leadership skills among students.
Looking ahead, Mr. Opoku announced that the school would officially commence its boarding facility in September 2026. He also disclosed that prospective students would now be required to sit for entrance examinations as part of measures to maintain the school’s academic standards.
The Headteacher reminded parents that all school uniforms must be purchased through the school to ensure uniformity and quality, while every student would also be required to possess the prescribed core textbooks for their respective classes.
He further announced a modest upward adjustment in school fees for tuition, feeding, and transportation, citing rising operational costs and the need to maintain quality educational services.
Despite the achievements, Mr. Opoku acknowledged several challenges facing the school, including inadequate teaching and learning materials, limited ICT and science resources, and the need for stronger parental support in ensuring punctuality, homework completion, and timely payment of school fees.
Speaking as the chairman of the ceremony, Daboriwura described the graduation ceremony as a historic moment for both the pupils and their parents. He congratulated the graduands on reaching an important milestone and encouraged them to remain disciplined, respectful, hardworking, and committed to lifelong learning.
He also commended the management and staff of Bright Beginnings Educational Complex for their dedication to nurturing young minds and providing quality education. He urged parents to continue supporting the academic and moral development of their children.
Using the story of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan as an illustration of perseverance, the chief encouraged the school not to lose hope despite challenges, expressing confidence that the institution would achieve even greater success in the years ahead.
The ceremony climaxed with the presentation of certificates and awards to deserving students. The overall best graduating student in KG 2 received a 32-inch television set, while the best Basic Six student was presented with a standing fan and other electronic devices. All graduands received medals and other prizes in recognition of their academic excellence and good conduct.
The event ended with renewed commitment from the school, parents, and stakeholders to continue working together to provide quality education and shape responsible future leaders.
