The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has urged newly inaugurated executives of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at the Damongo College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences to remain committed to the ideals of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and work diligently to advance the party’s agenda.

Dr. Sulemana made the call at the inauguration, swearing-in and handing-over ceremony of the new TEIN Damongo branch executives in Damongo on 3rd October, 2026.

The event brought together NDC Regional and constituency executives, including the Savannah Regional Chairman Alhaji Imoro Seidu Man Blessing and other Regional executives, the Damongo Constituency Chairman Mr Sulemana Abdulai aka Trouble and other constituency executives.

Other Dignitaries at the programme include Mr Mahama Haruna- Presidential Aide in the office of the Minister for Special Initiatives, Alhaji Inusah Mahama- Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority, Alhaji Sule Osman- Deputy CEO Anti- Doping Agency of the Ministry of Sports and others.

According to the MP for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, TEIN remains one of the most important human-resource pillars of the NDC and has a critical role to play in the party’s future.

He described the assumption of office by the new TEIN president and executives as a significant responsibility, urging them to demonstrate commitment, discipline and hard work in the discharge of their duties.

“TEIN is the powerhouse of the NDC as far as human resources are concerned,” he said, adding that the success of the party depended significantly on the role played by young people.
NDC government has restored economic confidence.

Dr. Sulemana also used the occasion to defend the performance of the NDC government, arguing that the country’s economy had improved compared with what he described as the difficult economic conditions under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

He criticised the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, accusing the previous administration of being unable to adequately account for key economic indicators such as GDP, inflation and the exchange rate.

The MP for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency said the current economic situation demonstrated that the NDC government had brought greater stability and confidence to the economy.

Dr. Sulemana further pointed to what he described as reductions in the prices of some essential commodities, including rice, as evidence of improved economic management.

He also cited ongoing infrastructure projects, including road construction, education and healthcare projects, as areas where he said the government was making progress.

According to the Bole MP, the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure programme had resulted in the construction of several roads across the country, including sections of the Wenchi-Wa corridor passing through Bole.
Agriculture remains key to economic transformation.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted agriculture as a critical component of Ghana’s economic development, particularly for young people.

He said the government’s Farmer Service Centre initiative was taking shape in the Savannah Region, with facilities being developed in Damongo and plans for a centre at Sakpa in the Bole area. The centres, he explained, were intended to improve farmers’ access to essential services, including tractor services, farm inputs and storage facilities.

Dr. Sulemana said timely access to tractors and fertiliser remained a challenge for some farmers and argued that strengthening agricultural support systems would enable farmers to increase production.

He said increasing domestic production, adding value to agricultural products and exporting surplus produce would help generate foreign exchange and strengthen the country’s economy.

On employment, the MP for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency claimed that more than 200 young people from the area had secured employment in various security services, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Immigration Service and Ghana National Fire Service.
He said the beneficiaries obtained the jobs without paying for positions, stressing that young people should not be required to purchase employment opportunities.

He further disclosed that appointments were expected from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) within the month, with several young people from the Savannah Region and other parts of the country expected to benefit.

Dr. Sulemana said the records of beneficiaries were being compiled and would be made public at an appropriate time.
