The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged supporters and sympathisers of the party to remain patient and continue praying for the government of President John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, “everybody will get their share at the right time.”Mr. Asiedu Nketia made the remarks on May 15, 2026, during his “Thank You Tour” of the Savannah Region. He was addressing party faithful at the Sawla Community Centre in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency.
He encouraged members of the party to stay united and committed to the ideals of the NDC while assuring them that the government remains focused on delivering for Ghanaians and rewarding the loyalty and sacrifices of party supporters at the appropriate time.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia acknowledged growing concerns among party supporters who feel they are yet to benefit directly from the party’s electoral victory. According to him, both he and President John Dramani Mahama are fully aware of the frustrations being expressed by some members across the country.
He explained that many supporters often point to government interventions such as the construction of schools and hospitals, road projects and the extension of electricity and water services. However, they argue that those developments benefit the general public regardless of political affiliation and therefore do not reflect direct rewards for the sacrifices party faithfuls made in securing victory for the party.
Addressing the concerns, Mr. Asiedu Nketia assured members that their efforts and dedication would not be overlooked.“President John Dramani Mahama and I are aware of your concerns. Your sacrifices will not go in vain,” he stated.

.He urged members not to be swayed by criticism from the NPP, who he said are asking what supporters have gained since the NDC won power. “Being an ordinary party member when your party is in government is better than being a national chairman in opposition,” he said. “Don’t give up by listening to the NPP.
When a party moves into opposition, that’s when there is no hope anymore.”The NDC chairman said the purpose of his tour is to thank Ghanaians for giving the NDC a landslide victory in the 2024 general election. “I, President John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President, and most other party members are busily working to reset Ghana,” he added.
The District Chief Executive for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Mr. Saaka Sinkina, commended Mr. Asiedu Nketia for visiting the district as part of the nationwide Thank You Tour.Mr. Sinkina outlined ongoing development projects being undertaken by the Assembly, including extensions of water supply, expansion of town roads, and new school and health projects
funded through the District Assembly Common Fund.He also thanked the NDC Savannah Regional Chairman, Alhaji Moro Seidu, popularly known as “Man Blessing,” for his continued support and guidance.
