The Bole District Directorate of Agriculture held its Research Extension Linkage Committee (RELC) meeting on Thursday, 17th September, 2026 at the Bole District Assembly Conference Hall.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders in the agriculture value chain to deliberate on challenges and propose solutions.

Speaking at the meeting, the Bole District Director of Agriculture, Mr. Sualey Abukari, explained the purpose of the gathering and according to him, the platform allows stakeholders to discuss challenges in research, extension and agribusiness and to find practical solutions to them.

He noted that some of the solutions will be researchable, while others will require policy interventions.

Mr Sualey Abukari added that some of the challenges will also be directed to financial institutions for necessary action.

He stated that the meeting is also aimed at bridging the gap between researchers, farmers, extension officers and other actors in the agricultural value chain.

He said the Directorate facilitates the activity in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Directorate of Agricultural Research.

He explained that issues that can be managed or mitigated at the district level are addressed immediately, while those that require policy action are documented and forwarded to the appropriate authorities for redress.

He further disclosed that prior to the district level meeting, a zonal level engagement was held where farmers and other stakeholders presented their concerns for discussion at the district forum.
