Bolewura’s Damba: MP Highlights Major Development Projects for Bole-Bamboi
The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has used the 2026 Bolewura’s Damba celebration to announce a series of development projects and interventions planned for communities across the constituency.
Addressing chiefs, queen mothers, community members and other dignitaries at the Damba celebration on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Dr Sulemana said several road, health, education, electricity and sports projects are either ongoing or being secured for the area.
On roads, the MP announced that an additional 24 kilometres of roads had been secured for construction, in addition to road projects already underway in the Bole town.
He said roads from Bole to Sonyo, Dakuripe-Kebilma and other important town roads would be tarred, while work on the Mandari-Chache road is in progressing.
Dr Sulemana also disclosed that a contractor is expected to commence work within the Bole Township in the coming weeks to improve roads in the town.
Turning to healthcare, he announced plans to complete a compound house project at Bole Hospital which, according to him, has been stalled since 2012.
He further promised to provide the hospital with a new ambulance within two weeks, following the donation of a generator to the facility.
The MP also announced plans for the construction of clinics at Banda Nkwanta and Maluwe, with the site for the Maluwe facility already handed over for construction.
In education, Dr Sulemana told the Damba gathering that he had spent about GH¢250,000 during the year to support brilliant students with school fees and had donated GH¢200,000 towards the construction of the Bole College of Education temporary site.
He said several schools would also benefit from new infrastructure, renovation works and furniture, stressing that efforts were being made to ensure that Junior High Schools in the area were adequately furnished.
Dr Sulemana further announced plans for AstroTurf facilities at Bamboi, Banda Nkwanta and Teslima, while an AstroTurf project is already underway at Bole.
He also disclosed that efforts are being made to extend electricity to about 144 communities, saying data on the communities had been compiled and submitted to the President and the Minister for Energy and Green Transition.
The MP used the occasion to appeal to residents and settlers to maintain peace and respect the traditional norms of the area, stressing that peace is essential for the implementation of development projects.
He also announced plans for a farmer service centre at Sakpa, which he said would support farmers with agricultural equipment and other services.
Dr Sulemana assured the gathering that he would continue working with traditional authorities and government officials to attract development projects to the Bole-Bamboi area.
