The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has admonished the people of Bole and beyond to learn valuable lessons from the life and legacy of the late Tingawura Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu.
Speaking at the final funeral rites of the late Tingawura on September 20, 2026, the Hon Sulemana reflected on the late traditional leader’s determination, resilience and ability to withstand criticism throughout his multifaceted career.
Hon. Dr. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana also highlighted the resilience and legacy of the late Council of State member, recalling his various roles as a bursar at Bole Secondary School, District Chief Executive (DCE), Tingawura of the Bole Traditional Area, and later as a member of the Council of State.
According to the Bole MP, the late Tingawura remained steadfast despite political polarization, criticism and personal challenges throughout his public life.
“Growing up and seeing him in this community, we can tell you that he didn’t get it easy,” he said.
The Bole MP added; “Many were those who chastised him; many were those who criticized him. But he was resilient, he was focused, and that is what brought him this far. Today, what we should be doing is celebrating him and learning lessons from the life he led.”
The final funeral rites of Tingawura Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu, a member of the Council of State representing the Savannah Region and Sub-Chief of the Bole Traditional Area of Gonja, were held successfully in Bole on Sunday.
Government officials, traditional leaders, political figures, family members and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects to the late traditional leader.
A government delegation led by the Minister for Local Government and Member of Parliament for Bawku, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, joined several members of Ghana’s Council of State, Members of Parliament, Chief Executive Officers and Deputy Chief Executive Officers, representatives of political parties, traditional leaders and other dignitaries at the funeral.
The funeral ceremony provided an opportunity for mourners to reflect on the life and legacy of Tingawura Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu, who was remembered as a dedicated public servant, traditional leader and advocate for the development and welfare of his people.
