Construction has commenced on a 120-bed Specialised Trauma and Emergency Hospital at Bole in the Savannah Region, with contractors having moved to site to begin work on the project.

The 16,000-square-metre facility is expected to provide specialised emergency and trauma care services to residents in the region and surrounding areas.

According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in charge of Government Communication who disclosed this on 1st October, 2026, the hospital will be equipped with a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit, trauma resuscitation bays and emergency operating theatres.

The Minister who shared images of the hospital when completed said the facility will also include an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a High Dependency Unit (HDU), specialised trauma wards and a dedicated burns treatment unit.

Other planned components include orthopaedic and surgical units, as well as imaging and diagnostic facilities to support the assessment and treatment of patients.

The development is expected to expand access to specialised trauma and emergency healthcare services in the Savannah Region once completed.
