The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has reaffirmed government’s determination to reconstruct the badly deteriorated Bole-Wa and Bole-Techiman roads, assuring residents that full-scale work will soon begin following the mobilization of contractors to site.

Addressing the media, Hon. Sulemana thanked the people of Bole and Bamboi as well as the Bolewura and his chiefs for their unwavering support for development in the constituency. He described the current state of the Bole-Wa Road as “deplorable,” noting that years of neglect had turned it into a major source of hardship and public embarrassment.

He recalled that while previous governments carried out routine maintenance, the road eventually fell into disrepair, but said President H.E. John Dramani Mahama has shown strong commitment to reversing the situation, citing the President’s sod-cutting ceremony to officially launch reconstruction works.

According to the MP, contractors are already on site, assembling equipment and demolishing temporary structures, while the main contractor, Ali Maripoma has given assurances that the project will be completed within schedule. The road works have been segmented to allow parallel construction along key stretches including Wenchi-Bamboi-Tinga, Tinga-Sawla and onward to Wa.

Hon. Sulemana urged all contractors operating in the constituency to deliver high-quality work on time, stressing that he would personally monitor projects to avoid delays and substandard execution and called on relevant ministries to intensify supervision to guarantee value for money.

Beyond roads, the MP announced the start of a housing project by the Ghana Home Ownership Fund Limited under the Ministry of Works and Housing. Awarded to Bilkis Limited, the project is expected to ease the housing shortage in the Bole District, particularly for public-sector workers. Phase One will involve the construction of two blocks of 22-bedroom fully detached housing units, together with internal roads and essential amenities.

While welcoming the initiative, Hon. Sulemana cautioned the contractor against delays, assuring traditional authorities and community members of their support but warning that failure to meet deadlines could lead to contract termination.

He further appealed to contractors to employ local residents wherever possible, saying it would help create jobs and promote inclusive growth.
The MP concluded by thanking traditional leaders and the media and offered prayers for peace, safety, and the successful completion of all projects in the constituency.
