Residents of four communities in the Bole area of the Savannah Region which are Kilampobile, Gbenfu, Kabilma, and Bale are celebrating the commissioning of a new telecommunications network system aimed at improving connectivity and communication.
The project, delivered through collaboration between government, private partners, and community stakeholders, fulfills a long-standing campaign promise made by the area’s Member of Parliament on April 24, 2026.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremonies, the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yussif sulemana recalled concerns raised by residents during the election period about poor network coverage in the area.“We pledged that when you voted for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and myself, we would ensure improved network access.
Today, that promise has been fulfilled,” he said.He noted that prior to the intervention, residents had to climb trees or buildings to access mobile signals. “Now, you can stand anywhere within the communities and communicate with people in Accra and beyond,” he added.
The MP expressed gratitude to key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Communications, regional officials, technical teams, and the District Chief Executive, for their roles in the project’s successful completion.

He described the development as “a dream realized” and urged residents, particularly the youth, to maintain confidence in the government’s leadership.Representing the technical partners, Prince Onuma Dankwa of Remy Ghana Limited, working in collaboration with JPEC Ghana, confirmed that all four sites are fully operational and will provide continuous service.“As of today, these communities are connected, and the systems will remain in service going forward,” he stated, while also acknowledging the support received from local residents during installation.
Onuma Dankwa highlighted potential challenges that could affect the network, including environmental factors such as overgrown vegetation around equipment, weather conditions, and maintenance issues from the main transmission site. He advised community members to help maintain the surroundings to prevent damage. He added that any faults could be quickly addressed if reported through local leaders or the MP’s office.
The network has an estimated coverage radius of five kilometres with 360-degree reach. The Bole District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdulai Mahmud expressed appreciation for the project, emphasizing that it marks a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in rural areas.“This is a promise fulfilled, and more communities will benefit from similar interventions,” the DCE noted, urging continued public trust in government initiatives.
The commissioning of the telecom infrastructure is expected to boost communication, enhance economic activities, and improve access to digital services across the beneficiary communities.
