The Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Professor Ahmed Abdulai Jinapor, has visited Bole on 29th May, 2026 to assess preparations for the planned opening of the Bole College of Education in September 2026.

As part of a fact-finding and inspection tour, Prof. Jinapor met with the Interim Governing Board of the college to discuss progress towards the establishment of the institution.Following the meeting, he visited a facility known as “Soldiers Camp” in Bole, where existing structures originally intended for a community market are expected to serve as the temporary campus for the college’s initial operations.

The Director-General also paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso I, at his palace. The Bolewura, an educationist, expressed strong support for the project and pledged his commitment to helping establish and develop the institution.

The Interim Chairman of the Board and former Principal of Bagabaga College of Education, Seripe-Wura Alhaji Adam Zakariah, also reaffirmed his commitment to using his experience and expertise to ensure the successful establishment and effective operation of the college.

Prof. Jinapor further visited Doli, near Bole, where the permanent campus of the college is currently under development.In May 2026, President John Dramani Mahama officially cut the sod for the construction of the institution, describing it as a long-awaited project for the people of the area.

When completed, the Bole College of Education will specialize in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Technical Education. The institution is expected to accommodate approximately 1,500 students and will play a significant role in expanding access to teacher education in the Savannah Region and beyond.
