The Savannah Regional Elections Committee has successfully completed the vetting and balloting of aspirants for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming Savannah Regional Executive Elections, paving the way for campaigns ahead of the polls.
At the conclusion of the vetting process, the Committee disqualified two aspirants after determining that they did not meet the party’s constitutional and eligibility requirements.
Mr. Adam Mohammed Mansuru, who sought to contest for the position of Regional Youth Organiser, was disqualified for failing to satisfy the constitutional eligibility requirements under Article 15(2)(1) of the Party’s Constitution. His disqualification leaves Mr. Yakubu Yussif as the sole candidate for the position, making him unopposed.
Similarly, Mr. Alpha Omar Yakubu was disqualified from the race for Regional Nasara Organiser following the Committee’s assessment of his suitability for the office. Consequently, Mr. Mohammed Marhey Bamba has been declared elected unopposed.
The balloting exercise produced the following order of candidates for the various positions:

The Committee congratulated all qualified aspirants and commended them for their cooperation and commitment throughout the vetting and balloting process.
It also called on contestants to conduct peaceful, issue-based campaigns focused on competence, vision, experience and practical programmes, while avoiding personal attacks and actions that could undermine the unity and cohesion of the party.
According to the Committee, the internal elections are expected to strengthen the NPP’s democratic credentials, reinforce party unity and position the party for future electoral contests. The statement was signed by the Savannah Regional Elections Committee.
