Political tension gripped Damongo from Friday 5th June, to Sunday 7th June, 2026 following an alleged assault involving two young TikTok personalities, one a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Activist and one a New Patriotic Party Party (NPP) activist.

The incident involved Hakeem, popularly known on TikTok as Alhaji Barony, who is associated with the NPP, and Fushieni Sorku, also known as Prince Fuzzy J.J., an activist linked to the NDC.According to accounts from supporters of both sides, tensions between the two had been building for some time through a series of TikTok videos in which they exchanged insults, accusations and threats.

The disagreement reportedly began after Prince Fuzzy cautioned Alhaji Barony against what he described as persistent attacks on leading members of the NDC, particularly the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu Adams Garlus.

The online exchanges intensified in recent weeks following Hon. Garlus’ sponsorship of a bus and tickets for some youth from Damongo to attend a music concert in Tamale featuring popular Northern Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam and Nigerian artiste Rudeboy.

In several TikTok videos, Alhaji Barony allegedly used offensive language against Hon. Garlus, while Prince Fuzzy responded by defending the Ghana Water Company Managing Director and criticizing Alhaji Barony’s comments.

The banter eventually moved beyond social media when Prince Fuzzy reportedly visited Alhaji Barony in Tamale to assault him.The incident sparked reactions among supporters of both political parties in Damongo.

Reports indicate that some NPP supporters, led by an individual known as Alhaji Rambo, later visited the residence of Prince Fuzzy after his return from Tamale.During the incident, the motorbike of Prince Fuzzy was allegedly damaged alongside other property.

On Sunday, Alhaji Rambo and the other individuals said to have been involved in the visit to Prince Fuzzy’s residence were reportedly invited by the police to assist with investigations. The incidents have generated widespread discussion in Damongo, with many residents calling for restraint and urging political activists to avoid escalating disagreements on social media into physical confrontations.
