NPP Savannah Regional Organizer, Nana Kwame Aboagye, has officially filed his nomination to contest for the position of First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savannah Region, pledging to offer active and results-driven leadership rather than merely occupying the office.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Nana Kwame Aboagye highlighted his extensive political journey within the party, describing it as one built on dedication, experience, and service.
He recounted his rise from serving as an Assembly Member to becoming the NPP Damongo Constituency Chairman before winning the Savannah Regional Organizer position after an earlier unsuccessful attempt against Professor Kalamonia.
According to him, his tenure as Regional Organizer has been marked by significant contributions to strengthening the party’s structures and expanding its grassroots support across the Savannah Region. He assured party delegates that, if elected First Vice Chairman, he would continue to work tirelessly to reposition the NPP for greater electoral success.
Explaining his decision to step down from the race for the Regional Chairmanship, Nana Kwame Aboagye said the move was a strategic one aimed at serving the party effectively in the role of First Vice Chairman, where he believes his experience and skills can make the greatest impact.
He also expressed confidence in his political track record, stating that even members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region acknowledge his effectiveness as a formidable political opponent.
Touching on the contest, Nana Kwame Aboagye noted that while all the candidates have previously served as constituency chairmen, delegates are well positioned to assess their respective records and determine under whose leadership the party made the greatest progress.
He appealed to delegates to support his bid, assuring them of committed leadership focused on unity, grassroots mobilization, and strengthening the party ahead of future elections.
