Dramani Alhassan Kennedy, a Communication Officer hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, has called on the National Security Secretariat and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to monitor the upcoming constituency elections amid concerns over alleged planned vote-buying.

In a statement issued on October 18, 2026, Mr Kennedy said information reaching him from various branches of the constituency suggested possible attempts to influence delegates through monetary inducements before and on election day.

He warned that such practices, if they occur, could undermine internal party democracy, compromise fair competition and create tensions among supporters of competing aspirants.

According to him, vote-buying could also pose a security risk by potentially triggering confrontations and violence at polling centres.

Dramani Alhassan Kennedy stressed that the NDC’s commitment to probity, accountability and grassroots participation must be reflected in the conduct of its internal elections.

He argued that the future leadership of the Bole-Bamboi Constituency should be determined by aspirants’ ideas, track records and service to the party rather than their financial capacity to influence delegates.

He therefore appealed to the Savannah Regional National Security Coordinator, the BNI Regional Command and the NDC Regional Elections Directorate to take proactive steps to ensure a free, fair, transparent and peaceful electoral process.

Mr Kennedy urged the relevant authorities to monitor developments ahead of the elections and take appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the contest.

He also called on all aspirants to conduct clean campaigns and appealed to delegates to resist attempts to influence their choices through financial inducements.

“Your thumb is not for sale and your conscience cannot be bought,” he stated.

The Bole-Bamboi NDC CommunicationsOfficer aspirant further called for peace before, during and after the elections, urging all stakeholders to prioritise the unity of the party throughout the electoral process.

The allegations of planned vote-buying have not been independently verified, and Mr Kennedy’s statement did not identify any individual aspirant as being responsible for the alleged plans.
