The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Mrs. Margaret Ansei, on Tuesday presented startup kits to 172 beneficiaries in the Bole District under the “Business in a Box (BizBox)” project.
The presentation took place in a mini ceremony at the forecourt of the Bole District Assembly.
Speaking at the event, the District Chief Executive for Bole, Hon. Abdulai Mahamud, expressed profound gratitude to the GEA CEO for personally coming to make the presentation.
According to the DCE, the 172 beneficiaries will not only establish their own businesses but will also train others, a move he said will help reduce the unemployment rate in the country and the district.
“These kits will benefit a lot of people because the beneficiaries will go on to train other people to become self-reliant. This is how we grow enterprises and create jobs,” Hon. Mahamud stated.

He added that the application portal for the programme will be opened again very soon. He urged interested persons to visit the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) in Bole, where officers will be available to assist with registration.
For her part, Mrs. Margaret Ansei thanked the people of Bole for their support and for producing leaders of national repute.
She acknowledged President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in her, having first appointed her as DCE for Suhum and later as CEO of GEA.
She also expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, for his relentless efforts to ensure his constituents benefit from national programmes.
Mrs. Ansei assured the people of Bole of GEA’s continued support.
“You are privileged to have received training and startup kits to begin your own businesses. Our offices are open to support you to grow. When we see that you are making good use of what we have given you by employing others and improving sales, when opportunities for loans or grants arise, we will come back to support you,” she said.
She advised beneficiaries not to keep the equipment idle, but to put them to productive use, make profit, and train others.

She noted that more kits will be brought for additional beneficiaries through the support of the MP and Regional and District Directors of GEA.
The BizBox project is part of government’s initiative to equip young people with practical skills and resources to start and grow sustainable businesses.
