
The District Chief Executive for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Hon. Saaka Sinkina has embarked on a tour of several communities within the district to officially cut sod for new developmental projects and alst hand over project sites to contractors.
The tour marks the commencement of major infrastructure works aimed at improving education and access to potable water across the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.
While speaking to Bole-based Nkilgi FM, Hon. Sinkina elaborated on the ongoing exercise and its district-level significance and conveyed his deep-seated appreciation to the John Dramani Mahama administration for its unrelenting support.

According to him, the administration’s backing is making it possible to execute the government’s “reset agenda” at the district level. The DCE explained that the projects were carefully selected to address pressing community needs. He noted that the interventions target long-standing gaps in classroom infrastructure and access to clean water. Hon. Sinkina also used the opportunity to urge contractors to deliver quality work and to stick to the agreed timelines.
On education, the projects include the construction of a 3-unit classroom block at Senyeri, a 3-unit kindergarten classroom block at Gindabour, the rehabilitation of a 6-unit classroom block at Sawla Senior High School and the completion of a 3-unit classroom block at Blema. Hon. Saaka Sinkina said all the seven projects are been funded from the District Assembly Common Fund(DACF)
On water and infrastructure, the district will see an extension of the Sawla water system, the drilling and construction of 8 boreholes across the district, and the Nyange-Kura solar-powered mechanized water project.

In total, 4 education and 3 water/infrastructure projects are set to benefit communities in Senyeri, Gindabour, Sawla, Blema, and Nyange-Kura.Chiefs and Community members of the communities expressed their appreciation to the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Chief Executive and the Assembly for the good works they are doing for the people of the District.
