The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Yusif Sulemana, has praised Motor King for donating two ambulance tricycles to support healthcare delivery in rural communities within the Bole District.
The tricycles, donated through LK International, popularly known as Motor King, are expected to improve emergency transportation for pregnant women, children, and other patients in remote communities.Receiving the donation on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the Bole MP said the President was highly excited when informed about the gesture due to his understanding of the challenges faced by people in rural areas, particularly pregnant women seeking healthcare.

According to Mr. Sulemana, the President directed that the ambulance tricycles should be distributed directly to rural CHPS compounds where they would have the greatest impact.“Rural health is important, and this is a very good gesture that we appreciate. We will donate these tricycles to some CHPS compounds, but what it also means is that we need more,” he stated.
The MP disclosed that he may consider using part of his MPs Common Fund to procure additional ambulance tricycles for communities in the district, while also encouraging government support for indigenous companies that are creating innovative solutions for local challenges. He recounted a personal experience in which one of the ambulance tricycles played a crucial role in assisting a motor accident victim along the Bole-Tamale road at Kabampe.
According to him, after transporting the victim to a nearby CHPS compound at Grupe, the patient was transferred into the ambulance tricycle and referred to Sawla for further treatment.“If the tricycle was not there, the gentleman was going to suffer until he got to Sawla. Its presence brought comfort and may even have contributed to saving his life,” he said.
Mr. Sulemana further encouraged Motor King to engage institutions such as Mahama’s Care and other health-focused organizations to expand the distribution of the ambulance tricycles across rural Ghana.Speaking during the presentation, the representative of LK International, Abubakari Iyisha Bancia, explained that the company introduced the innovation to address the transportation difficulties faced by pregnant women and critically ill patients in rural communities.

She noted that before the introduction of the ambulance tricycles, many pregnant women were transported on bicycles and motorbikes, leading to avoidable complications and loss of lives.“These ambulance tricycles have gone a long way to help save lives in communities across Ghana. We have worked with the Ghana Health Service and several NGOs, and the impact has been significant,” he stated.
Iyisha Bancia added that Motor King is committed to promoting locally manufactured products, revealing that about 80 percent of the ambulance tricycle components are made in Ghana, aside from the engine and front cabin.
She expressed optimism that the donation would expose the innovation to the President and encourage government support for the expansion of the initiative nationwide.“We believe that when the President sees the impact of these ambulance tricycles in his own communities, it will motivate support for more of them to be distributed to CHPS compounds across the country,” he said.
