The Bole District Health Director of Health Services Mr Dubik Daniel Dindiok has disclosed that there are unsanitary conditions in the Bole District especially Bole township urging that hygiene is a community responsibility and so people should not wait government interventions on personal hygiene.
Speaking at the Bole District Health Directorate mid year performance review on 13th August, 2026 at Mom and Dad Lodge in Bole, attended by various stakeholders, he said to have typhoid means one has eaten the faeces of another person and that people unfortunately still do open defecation.
Mr Dubik disclosed that said the number of households in the Bole District who have toilets have increased, but unfortunately, some still go on open defecation, also known as free range, to ease themselves.
The Bole District Director of Health Services, Mr. Dubik Daniel Dindiok said there has been a general increase in attendance of people within the district to the hospitals and other health facilities within the district. He mentioned that patient trust in health services in the Bole District has increased tremendously, and staff respect has improved as well.
Mr Dubik Daniel Dindiok, however, said in places like Mankuma and Mandari, there is a significant improvement, but they have not met their targets.
The Bole District Director of Health attributed that to the lack of accommodation by staff within these communities and therefore appealed to government and stake holders to help them with accomodation so as to ensure staff presence at all times, to attend to the various medical needs of the people.
Mr Dubik Daniel Dindiok also appealed to the government for equipment for effective operations, adding that internal generated funds can not buy beds and other equipment, which is usually very expensive.
He added that with the rolling out of the Primary Health Care, he hopes the government will help with providing the hospital and other health facilities within the district equipment to operate.
Mr Dubik Daniel Dindiok said the Out Patient Department has increased in tne first half of the year compared with 2025 and that other areas of concern, especially with regards maternal and child health attendance and Anti- natal clinic attendance has seen a marginal increase.
The Bole District Health Director said deliveries have increased to more than half and like to get 2000 deliveries of babies.
Speaking on other health issues, he said there are some areas that the Bole District Health Directorate is not doing well, especially in handling anaemia, but is having support from partners like the change project.
Mr Dubik said the Bole District Directorate is always working on how to improve on customer care and thay have done some training with regards to that.
He said Malaris is the leading course of visits to Hospital ls in the Bole area but fortunately they have zero malaria deaths as at kod year 2026 and that interventions are ongoing and as he speaks they have done two seasonal malaria chemo prevention exercises in 2026.
He said they are receiving support from Zakat Foundation to encourage women will take their malaria drugs and that warm snacks will be provided. He said pregnant mothers and children in school are being provided mosquito nets.
Mr Dubik said these interventions are decreasing malaria cases.
The Bole District Health Directorate said their performance half year means they are doing better, and if they maintain performance, it is obvious that by close of year, they would have improved in 2026 as compared to 2025.
