The Queen mother of Wasipe (Ndape), a community near Tinga in the Bole Traditional Area and former District Director of Health for Bole, Ndapewurche Hajia Fuseina Sulemana has donated 24 boxes of sanitary pads to students of Bole Senior High School in the Bole District of the Savannah Region.
The donation was made on Monday, September 29th, 2026, to commemorate her 61st birthday celebration.
Speaking to Bole-based Nkilgi FM after the presentation, Ndapewurche Hajia Fuseina Sulemana who is currently a board member of the Bui Power Authority said the gesture was her way of giving back to society and supporting young girls.
She expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust and confidence reposed in her by appointing her as a board member of the Bui Power Authority.
Hajia Fuseina also commended the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mr. Mumuni Zakaria, and the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Dr. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, for their contributions and support towards the donation.
According to her, she was moved to undertake the initiative because many school girls feel uncomfortable and struggle to concentrate on their studies during their menstrual periods.
She explained that she mobilized resources, with support from the MP and the Deputy Governor, to purchase the sanitary pads to help alleviate the plight of the female students.
Ndapewurche Hajia Fusiena further noted that Bole Senior High School is her alma mater, and that the school played a significant role in shaping who she is today, hence her decision to contribute her widow’s mite to support the girls.
The Girls’ Prefect of the Bole Senior High School, Amatana Awalekiya Widad, who spoke on behalf of all the female students, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hajia Fuseina for the kind gesture on her birthday.
She said Hajia Fuseina wished them well, motivated them and advised them to take their studies seriously in order to become responsible future leaders.
According to the Girls’ Prefect, Hajia Fuseina made it clear that the donation was made possible through the support of the President, the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, and the MP for Bole-Bamboi.
Management of the school also thanked her for the support and appealed to other old students and benevolent individuals to emulate her example to help improve girl-child education in the district.
