Muhiba Iddrisu, popularly known as Queen Hiba, an aspirant for the position of Savannah Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has unveiled a six-point communication agenda she describes as the “Big Six.”
The initiative, according to Ms. Muhiba Iddrisu, is designed to reposition communication as a strategic tool for development, community empowerment, accountability and the promotion of the Savannah Region.
She said communication should go beyond the dissemination of information to connecting people to opportunities, giving communities a voice, promoting development, strengthening accountability and telling the story of the region.
Queen Hiba added that;
“As a communications professional and a passionate daughter of the Savannah Region, I envision a communication system that does not only communicate development, but actively contributes to it”.
She further explained that the “Big Six” would seek to strengthen communication structures across the region while developing and empowering communicators.
The Savannah Region NDC Communication Officer aspirant said the initiative would also create platforms for collaboration, promote communities and their people, and deliberately project what she described as the development potential of the Savannah Region.
According to her, the six-point agenda is intended to provide a strategic framework for improving communication and ensuring that development efforts and opportunities within the region receive greater visibility.
Disclosing her first initiative, Queen Hiba said her vision is to liaise with development partners and stakeholders to establish the Savannah Region’s first fully integrated multimedia television and digital broadcasting platform.
She said the platform would seek to inform, educate and empower communities, while preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage and promoting development.
According to Queen Hiba, the mission is to bridge the communication gap between leadership and communities by delivering credible, inclusive and accessible content in both English and local languages.
Queen Hiba said she will unveil the remaining points of her “Big Six” agenda in the coming days.
